Lleida Expo Tren attracts enthusiasts from Spain, France, Andorra and Norway
Also an increase in family audiences has been recorded
More than 8,000 visitors attended the 15th edition of the International Model and Railway Leisure Trade Show held in Lleida
The 15th edition of the Lleida Expo Tren trade show (International Model and Railway Leisure Trade Show) closed its doors this Sunday with a positive balance in terms of visitor attendance—more than 8,000 visitors from throughout the State, France, Andorra and Norway—and a high level of satisfaction among leisure and commercial exhibitors, who especially on Saturday, the day that recorded long queues at the entrance, achieved a high volume of sales. Equally, the great majority of exhibitors have shown the willingness to participate again in 2027.
According to Raúl Valls, organizer of the trade show, this year there has been a notable increase in family audiences and children, largely due to the recovery of the 12.7 cm gauge indoor circuit with staffed trains in which both adults and children can travel, and the creation of spaces for children such as the "Märklin My World" play area or the computer area with children's railway games from the Transpirinenc Railway Association. Valls adds that "attracting this audience is one of the trade fair's objectives, because it is a good way to attract potential future enthusiasts".
Lleida Expo Tren opened its doors this weekend at Halls 4 and 5 of Fira de Lleida (7,300 m2 of total space) with 75 exhibitors, 15 models of different scales, 420 accredited participants and 32 brands represented. It should be noted that, at the local level, the main innovations of this edition have been the exhibition of a large 8.5 m long reproduction of Lleida station in the 1980s created by the Amics del Tren en Miniatura of the Ateneu Popular de Ponent, and the exhibition "Ten years of the Stadler train on the Lleida-Balaguer-La Pobla de Segur line", 90 artistic photographs provided by railway expert Joan Solé.
The trade show is organized by the magazine Más Tren, in collaboration with Fira de Lleida and Ajuntament de Lleida.
